Throughout the year we have been doing many things to improve our health. We all started working towards are goal in August, 2013. At first we talked about food what's good for us and what’s not and what to eat if we wanted to lose weight. After that we started to do some excercises and running. Most of us had a little trouble when we started. We all pushed ourselves and did really well.
Mr. Wann is our teacher for fitness and nutrition. He is a great teacher. We started out running 3 minutes without stopping and worked our way up to 20. We had a goal set for us, to run 30 minutes without stopping, but we didn’t make it because of the weather. For several days it was rainy and we couldn’t go outside. Also the big snow storm was also a big setback. If we could have finished our goal we could have played football. Everyone wanted to play.. Some of us were a little upset we didn't get to our goal, but we got over it. I was pretty proud of everyone for working so hard.
We ran and exercised every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We got into our gym clothes at 2:20 everyday. If we didn’t bring our clothes we couldn't run; therefore it would count against our grade. We are supposed to drink water everyday and not eat unhealthy stuff. We all want to play some type of sport. Mr. Wann knows how to play tennis, and it is almost that time of the year .
It is now January, 2014 and we have started tennis. We are still doing our exercises. We do them in the classroom when we are not able to go outside because of the weather. Some new people joined are class at the beginning of the semester which is great! There are a lot of people that want to play sports and be in shape, including me. I want to be a professional runner when I grow up and this is helping me reach my goal.
I am very glad that we do fitness and nutrition/tennis. So are my parents, because they are glad that I wont be lazy all the time; therefore I will actually do something. They are also very glad that I’m working towards my goal, to be a professional track star.
